BRICK LOS ANGELES: Best Boutique Gym in West Hollywood!

The search for your perfect gym can be exhausting…There is certainly no shortage of gyms (or new fitness trends) in Los Angeles. The shiny new fitness concept opens and closes weekly in LA. The widgets and cute marketing angles aren’t sustainable and don’t ultimately provide the results you work and pay for. Nor the ones they promised.

Should you join Soul Cycle or get ClassPass? Get a YogaWorks membership or hike Runyon daily? What makes the “right gym for you?”.  When you start your gym search, there are 3 key factors for determining what is best for you:

1.
Will the workouts, fitness concepts and staff help you achieve your fitness goals?

Are you looking to increase your overall strength, energy, flexibility? Want to tone up, lean out? Just interested in overall and general fitness? The gym you choose should have all the tools necessary to help you reach your health and wellness goals.

2.
Will the workouts, atmosphere, gym culture make you want to come back? Is the staff professional, friendly and driven by customer excellence? The truth is, getting a good workout is not enough – you need to enjoy your time at the gym regardless of how much or how little you like exercising. The staff needs to care about your success and understand what it is you are looking to take away from your time there. Everyone’s needs, wants, hopes are different.  The best gyms are definitely more about personal preferences and enjoying your experience than perfecting your workout routine in week one. Why? Because repetition is the mother of all skills and with consistent attendance everything else will organically fall in place.

3.
Is the gym geographically convenient? This is L.A. after all. Sure, Downtown to Culver City is only 10 miles, but that’s at least 40 minutes in traffic. Yes, parking is more valuable than gold and as difficult to find as Waldo. You need a gym that you can consistently get to and make a part of your weekly routine without the added stresses of drive time and circling around looking for parking.

BRICK is your Unicorn gym that fits all 3!!

If you’re looking for fun, safe, time-efficient and results-driven group fitness, BRICK delivers. With an amazing track record of servicing the West Hollywood community for 9 years, BRICK offers a vast variety of classes that can each be scaled up or scaled down to meet your fitness goals. The community is friendly, all-inclusive, positive and encouraging, which is exactly the type of support all success-driven individuals look for.

Community is definitely what makes BRICK so special. It’s a place where on any given day you will find members popping in just to say “Hi” when in the area. Some of our members have been with us for almost a decade. That’s how much people love BRICK.

BRICK is centrally located in West Hollywood (and ½ a block from Whole Foods). The class schedule is jam-packed with over 115 hours a week to choose from which can easily coordinate with your busy schedule. Oh there’s also free parking, and plenty of it! Find parking at any hour you arrive. Convenience is key! Hence why we have full amenities from private showers, complimentary hand and bath towels, toiletries and more! Come check it out for yourself…

“I can’t stress COMMUNITY enough. If you’re new to LA or just wanna meet new people then BRICK is your place! (Or if you wanna get in, workout and leave without talking to a single soul you can totally do that too!) There have been so many friendships and business partnerships created at BRICK. It’s such a welcoming environment for people of any age, gender and fitness level. It can be overwhelming at first when you see these athletes achieving things you just don’t think are possible for yourself. Until you discover, with the help of the amazing coaches and members, they are possible.”

– Joey M.

“Later this year will be 3 years since joining BRICK and I can honestly say it’s one of the best life decisions I’ve made. You can not say enough about this community, made up of the coaches and members. I’ll be honest, I was a bit nervous at first but after about a week, I was sold! I’ve met some of the greatest people and created friendships that exist outside of the gym.

Now for the actual workouts, they’re killer and the programming is spot on. All workouts are made for all different skill levels and anything is attainable. There have been many times I’ve gone to the gym unmotivated after a long day of work and left feeling like I could take on the world. The coaches are extremely encouraging and know what they’re talking about (listen to them)!

The class offering and schedule accommodates just about anyone’s schedule; seriously, there’s at least 20 classes a day!”

– Nicole P.

“It doesn’t get much better than BRICK. From the moment I left my first class, I knew I had found it… the place that would help me never go to a 24-hour again! From the coaches to the community to the intense programming, BRICK has made me fall in love with fitness, take on challenges I never thought possible, and helped me be the best me.

The community at BRICK is unmatched. The level of athleticism and drive has pushed me to new levels and helped bring out my competitive energy again (which was hiding after hs and college)! BRICK is filled with so much love and support. Hearing people cheer and yell as loudly as possible for you to get that extra rep with 3 seconds left is an unparalleled feeling. (Plus, we know how to have fun and love seeing each other in and outside of the gym!)

The coaches aren’t afraid to tell you how to do a movement with precision, push you to new heights and help you “dig deep” to finish a workout you wanted to quit after the first two minutes.”

– Gina B.

“I’ve been a member for over 5 year and I still love it so much. Everything I need in a gym is at BRICK: Crossfit, Circuit training, kick boxing, Olympic lifting and yoga. BRICK has incredibly knowledgable and talented coaches  and they offer amazing programming for all levels in all areas. One of the greatest things about BRICK is also the community it has built. It’s so welcoming and fun! I love me some BRICK! :)” –

“I just finished my first year at BRICK. I’ve never been stronger or in better shape in my life and I wake up looking forward to not just the workout of the day, but going to see all the awesome people there. The coaches are all top notch and I’ve learned something that has helped me become a more well rounded athlete from every one of them. The master trainer who plans all  the workouts is incredible and a true master at his craft. The gym manager is so very friendly and the staff is great… a really well run, clean environment. If you’re looking for programs to get you stronger, faster, leaner… whatever your needs are, they likely have a class for it.

The main reason I joined BRICK is the wide assortment of classes… Olympic lifting, Crossfit, Cardio bootcamp (called BX), Yoga, Kickboxing, Gymnastics… they have it all. This gym will change your life, create positive results, challenge you to grow, and cause you to have massive amounts of fun in your daily gym visit. I’ve been to many other gyms around town and even back home where I grew up… trust me when I say, this place is next level! Do yourself a favor and come join us!”

FAQs

1. Do I need to be in shape before I start working out at BRICK?

No! People are sometimes intimidated when they see fit people at a gym. There is no better time to start than RIGHT NOW. All workouts at BRICK are scalable: that means that they can be scaled up or scaled down depending on your current fitness level and mood. Sure there are some insanely fit people at BRICK, but most did not start out that way and everyone is interested in encouraging one another. It’s all relative and we are here to work with you to integrate you into the classes and enjoy the workouts for what they personally provide.

2. Can I try classes before signing up for a monthly membership?

Yes! In fact, we have a special BOGO (Buy One Get One) class offer right now.

3. I’ve never done CrossFit before. Can I try a CrossFit class?

If you do not have 3 months of prior CrossFit experience, we have you start by taking BRICK academy classes where a coach will train you on CrossFit movements in a small group setting. Good form is vital for safety, so we want to make sure you are well versed before you jump into a more technical workout.

4. Are my muscles going to get way too big? Especially if I lift heavy weight.

It takes a ton of hard work and dedication to build muscle. Muscle also comes in different shapes and sizes. Big muscles don’t always translate to “strong”. Diet and genetics are vital in determining how your body will respond to different types of physical activity. Fortunately with our highly trained staff we can coach you through these details to get to your end game. The most important part is increasing your heart rate, moving your body, working on flexibility and challenging yourself daily. Doing this while having fun and being safe will insure the results!

5. Do I need any special equipment or gear to participate in the classes at BRICK? From endurance, to CrossFit, to bootcamp to Kickboxing/Boxing?

In general for our fitness classes we recommend flat shoes for workouts. Nike and Reebok both make great shoes specifically designed for CrossFit, but Chuck’s are also fine to wear! For boxing, we have extra gloves and wraps, but if you become a regular, you will likely want to buy your own. Nobody wants to wear someone’s sweaty socks?! Think of it that way. 🙂 If you are participating in our Endurance classes, we recommend a standard running show…If you have special footwear needs those too will work just fine. Being comfortable, mobile and not wearing anything loose or dangly from torn clothing to jewelry is recommended. Leave it at home where it’s safe.
