It’s Nicholas, but most people call me Nick (unless I’m in trouble). I also go by Dad or Coach Nick.
- Tell us a little bit about yourself, hobbies, occupation, etc…
I am a Dad and a husband before all else. I am surrounded by women at home. Roxanne and I have been married for 11 years now and we have two kick-ass daughters, Breanne (9) and Presley (6). When we are not at the gym or at work, we spend most of our free time shuttling the girls from sport to sport. I am a Fresno State Alumni with a BS in Construction Management (Go Bulldogs!). Now, I am the Director of Facilities & Construction for the Pleasanton Unified School District. (Thanks for your Measure I1 Bond dollars by the way!) We have a lot of exciting projects in the works that will improve our school facilities and benefit our entire community.

My favorite teams are the Giants, 49ers, and a proud band-wagon fan of the Warriors. I also like to build stuff and DIY home improvement. When I retire, I would love to have workshop to just tinker and build cool things.

The F-ing Dodgers, anything with coconut in it, adult crybabies (like Lebron and Yasel Puig).
- I eat or what is your favorite food…
I am a total MEAT eater (sorry Rick). Steak, chicken, pork, fish, it doesn’t matter. I will choose a second helping of meat over dessert anytime.
- What goals have you achieved? What are you new ones?
Through High School and College, I was super into fitness and considered myself a pretty good athlete. Admittedly, I kind of let myself go after our kids were born. About 2 years ago, I got up to the heaviest that I have ever been at 285lbs and it scared me because I was having health issues. Over the past two years, I have lost about 40lbs and a good portion of that is thanks to Brick NorCal. I am thankful to have the energy to play with our girls and be a better coach. My ultimate goal would be to get back down to my college weight of 220lbs or less.
- What is your favorite movement?
Back squats (when my knees don’t hurt), Power Cleans, Deadlifts, Push Press and pretty much anything with a heavy barbell.
- What is your least favorite movement?
Running and burpees! It used to be pull-ups and box jumps, but not anymore!
- Do you have any advice to new members or someone thinking about joining or starting their fitness journey?
Consistency is the key for me. You can find me at the 5:30am class M-F and the 9am class most weekends. It is also really important to have people around you to motivate you and encourage you to be consistent and challenge you. I am lucky to have a beautiful wife that fills that role for me.
- What do you love about Brick Northern California?
The people! The coaches are great and the members are fantastic. It is a mini-family at Brick and we all root for each other every workout.
